Sukta 7.61
उद्वां चक्षुर्वरुण सुप्रतीकं देवयोरेति सूर्यस्ततन्वान् । अभि यो विश्वा भुवनानि चष्टे स मन्युं मर्त्येष्वा चिकेत ॥
úd vāṃ cákṣur varuṇa suprátīkaṃ deváyor eti sū́ryas tatanvā́n | abhí yó víśvā bhúvanāni cáṣṭe sá manyúṃ mártyeṣv ā́ ciket ||
ഹേ വരുണ, നിന്റെ ചക്ഷു—സുപ്രതീക സൂര്യൻ—ഉദിക്കുന്നു; ദേവയോഃ (ഇരുദേവന്മാർ)ക്കായി സഞ്ചരിച്ച് തന്റെ പ്രകാശം വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. സർവ്വ ഭുവനങ്ങളെയും ദർശിക്കുന്നവൻ, മർത്ത്യരിലുള്ള മന്യു (ആവേശം)യും കലുഷിത വാസനകളും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.
