वैश्वानर तव तानि व्रतानि महान्यग्ने नकिरा दधर्ष । यज्जायमानः पित्रोरुपस्थेऽविन्दः केतुं वयुनेष्वह्नाम् ॥
vaiśvānara táva tā́ni vratā́ni mahā́ny agne nákir ā́ dadharṣa | yáj jā́yamānaḥ pitór upásthe ’víndaḥ ketúṃ vayúneṣv áhnām ||
ഹേ വൈശ്വാനര, ഹേ അഗ്നി, നിന്റെ ആ മഹത്തായ വ്രതങ്ങൾ—വിധി-നിയമങ്ങൾ—ആരും ലംഘിക്കാനാവാത്തവയാണ്. നീ ആ രണ്ടു പിതാക്കളുടെയും മടിയിൽ ജനിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ദിവസങ്ങളുടെ ക്രമബദ്ധ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ (വയുനേഷു) നീ കേതു—മാർഗ്ഗദീപ്തി—യെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.
