नाना ह्यग्नेऽवसे स्पर्धन्ते रायो अर्यः । तूर्वन्तो दस्युमायवो व्रतैः सीक्षन्तो अव्रतम् ॥

nānā́ hí agne ávase spárdhante rā́yo aryáḥ | tū́rvanto dásyum ā́yavo vratáiḥ sīkṣánto avratám ||

ഹേ അഗ്നേ, നിന്റെ സഹായത്തിനും സമൃദ്ധികൾക്കും വേണ്ടി ആര്യരുടെ പരിശ്രമങ്ങൾ സത്യത്തിൽ നാനാവിധമാണ്. വ്രതങ്ങളാൽ ദസ്യു-മായാവികളെ അമർത്തി, ഋതത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർ അവ്രത—വിധിഹീനനെ ശാസനയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
