रथीव कशयाश्वाँ अभिक्षिपन्नाविर्दूतान्कृणुते वर्ष्याँ अह । दूरात्सिंहस्य स्तनथा उदीरते यत्पर्जन्यः कृणुते वर्ष्यं नभः ॥
rathī́va kaśáyā́śvāṃ abhikṣipánn āvír dūtā́n kṛṇute varṣyā́ṃ̐ áha | dūrā́t siṃhásya stanáthā́ udī́rate yát parjányáḥ kṛṇuté varṣyàṃ nábhaḥ ||
രഥസാരഥി ചാട്ടുകൊണ്ട് കുതിരകളെ ഓടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ അവയെ മുന്നോട്ട് തള്ളുന്നു; മഴയുടെ ദൂതന്മാരെ അവൻ തുറന്നുവെച്ച് പ്രകടമാക്കുന്നു. ദൂരത്ത് നിന്ന് സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഗർജ്ജനമെന്നപോലെ ഇടിമുഴക്കം ഉയരുന്നു—പർജന്യൻ മഴഭാരിതമായ മേഘത്തെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ.
