Sukta 5.30
परो यत्त्वं परम आजनिष्ठाः परावति श्रुत्यं नाम बिभ्रत् । अतश्चिदिन्द्रादभयन्त देवा विश्वा अपो अजयद्दासपत्नीः ॥
paró yát tvaṁ paramá ā́janiṣṭhāḥ parāváti śrútyaṁ nā́ma bíbhrat | átaś cid índrād abhayanta devā́ víśvā apó ajayad dā́sa-patnīḥ ||
നീ പരമനും പരാത്പരനും ആയി ജനിച്ചപ്പോൾ—ദൂരസ്ഥമായ പരാവതിയിൽ ‘ശ്രുത്യം’ (ശ്രവണഗോചരമായ) നാമം ധരിച്ചപ്പോൾ—അപ്പോൾ ദേവന്മാരും ഇന്ദ്രനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു. ഇന്ദ്രൻ ദാസന്റെ ബന്ധനത്തിലായിരുന്ന എല്ലാ അപഃ (ജലധാരകൾ)യും ജയിച്ചു; ദാസപത്നികളായി പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ജലധാരകളെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു.
