Sukta 5.12
के ते अग्ने रिपवे बन्धनासः के पायवः सनिषन्त द्युमन्तः । के धासिमग्ने अनृतस्य पान्ति क आसतो वचसः सन्ति गोपाः ॥
ké te agne ripáve bándhanāsaḥ ké pā́yavaḥ saniṣanta dyu-mántaḥ | ké dhā́sím agne anṛtásya pānti ká āsato vácasaḥ santi gopā́ḥ ||
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, നിനക്കായി ശത്രുവിനെ ബന്ധനത്തിൽ ആരാണ് കെട്ടുന്നത്? ജയിക്കുന്ന ദ്യുമന്ത പായവഃ (രക്ഷകർ) ആരാണ്? ഹേ അഗ്നേ, അനൃത (അസത്യം) മുതൽ നിന്റെ ധാസി (ഭാഗം/ഹിസ്സ) ആരാണ് കാക്കുന്നത്? വചനത്തിന്റെ ഗോപാഃ (കാവൽക്കാരൻമാർ/ഗോപാലർ) ആരാണ്, അതിനെ അസത്യത്തിൽ നിന്ന് സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ?
