Sukta 5.12
ऋतं चिकित्व ऋतमिच्चिकिद्ध्यृतस्य धारा अनु तृन्धि पूर्वीः । नाहं यातुं सहसा न द्वयेन ऋतं सपाम्यरुषस्य वृष्णः ॥
ṛtáṃ cikitva ṛtám íc cíkiddhy ṛtásya dhārā́ ánu tṛndhi pūrvī́ḥ | nā́haṃ yātúṃ sáhasā ná dváyena ṛtáṃ sapāmy aruṣásya vṛ́ṣṇaḥ ||
ഹേ ഋതത്തെ അറിയുന്നവനേ, ഋതത്തെ അറിയുക; തീർച്ചയായും ഋതത്തെയേ അറിയുക. ഋതത്തിന്റെ അനേകം പുരാതന ധാരകളെ അനുഗമിച്ച് നിന്റെ വഴി വെട്ടുക. ഞാൻ അതിനെ ബലത്താൽ എത്തിച്ചേരാൻ കഴിയില്ല; ദ്വൈത/വിഭജിത മാർഗ്ഗത്താലും അല്ല; അരുഷ (രുദ്രവർണ്ണ) വൃഷഭൻ—അഗ്നിയുടെ ദീപ്തശക്തി—അവന്റെ ഋതത്തെ പിന്തുടർന്ന് ഞാൻ അതിനെ നേടുന്നു.
