को वस्त्राता वसवः को वरूता द्यावाभूमी अदिते त्रासीथां नः । सहीयसो वरुण मित्र मर्तात्को वोऽध्वरे वरिवो धाति देवाः ॥
ko vas trātā vasavaḥ ko varūtā dyāvābhūmī adite trāsīthāṃ naḥ | sahīyaso varuṇa mitra martāt ko vo 'dhvare varivo dhāti devāḥ ||
ഹേ വസുക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷകൻ ആര്? നിങ്ങളുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ പ്രതിരോധം ആര്? ഹേ ദ്യാവാ-ഭൂമീ, ഹേ അദിതേ, നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളെ കാക്കുക. ഹേ വരുണാ, മിത്രാ, അതിക്രമിയായ മർത്ത്യനിൽ നിന്ന്—യജ്ഞത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വിശാല സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം/അവകാശം (വരിവഃ) ഏത് ദേവൻ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നു?
