Sukta 4.1
अस्माकमत्र पितरो मनुष्या अभि प्र सेदुॠतमाशुषाणाः । अश्मव्रजाः सुदुघा वव्रे अन्तरुदुस्रा आजन्नुषसो हुवानाः ॥
asmā́kam átra pitáro manuṣyā́ abhí prá sedur ṛtám āśuṣāṇā́ḥ | aśmá-vrajāḥ su-dúghā vavré ántar úd usrā́ ā́jan uṣáso huvānā́ḥ ||
ഇവിടെ നമ്മുടെ മനുഷ്യപിതാക്കൾ ഋതം—സത്യം—ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി വേഗമുള്ള പരിശ്രമത്തോടെ മുന്നേറി. അശ്മവ്രജം—കല്ലുകൊണ്ടുള്ള വേലി/അടച്ചിടം—ഭേദിച്ചവർ അകത്ത് സുധുഘാ—സമൃദ്ധി പാൽപോലെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ധാരകൾ—തുറന്നു; ഉഷസ്സുകളെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ചുവപ്പുനിറമുള്ള പ്രകാശങ്ങളെ മേലോട്ടുയർത്തി.
