Sukta 3.4
दैव्या होतारा प्रथमा न्यृञ्जे सप्त पृक्षासः स्वधया मदन्ति । ऋतं शंसन्त ऋतमित्त आहुरनु व्रतं व्रतपा दीध्यानाः ॥
daivyā́ hótārā prathamā́ ny ṛ́ñje saptá pṛkṣā́saḥ svadháyā madanti | ṛtáṃ śáṃsanta ṛtám ít tá āhuḥ ánu vratáṃ vrata-pā́ dīdhyā́nāḥ ||
ദൈവ്യ ഹോതൃപുരോഹിതർ—ആദ്യമായി—ആസനം ഏൽക്കുന്നു; സ്വധാ (സ്വസ്വഭാവനിയമം)യിൽ മദിച്ച ഏഴ് ബലവാന്മാർ (പൃക്ഷാസ) ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു. അവർ ഋതത്തെ പാടുന്നു; ഋതം തന്നെയെന്ന് ഉറപ്പായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു. വ്രതപാലകരായി നിയമങ്ങളെ കാത്തുകൊണ്ട്, വ്രതത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ച്, ദീധ്യമാനമായി (തപോജ്വാലയിൽ) പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.
