स इधान उषसो राम्या अनु स्वर्ण दीदेदरुषेण भानुना । होत्राभिरग्निर्मनुषः स्वध्वरो राजा विशामतिथिश्चारुरायवे ॥
sá idhāná uṣásaḥ rā́myāḥ ánu svàrṇá dī́ded aruṣéṇa bhānúnā | hótrābhir agnír mánuṣaḥ sv-adhvaró rājā́ viśā́m átithiś cā́rur ā́yave ||
പ്രജ്വലിതനായ അവൻ, രമ്യമായ ഉഷസ്സുകളെ അനുഗമിച്ച്, സൂര്യന്റെ സ്വന്തം സ്വർണ്ണപ്രകാശംപോലെ, അരുണകിരണഭാനുവാൽ ദീപ്തനാകുന്നു. ഹോത്രശക്തികളാൽ (ഹോത്രാഭിഃ) അഗ്നി മനുഷ്യനു സുമാർഗ്ഗിത യജ്ഞമാകുന്നു; വിശങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായി, അവൻ അഥിതി—സമൃദ്ധി തേടുന്നവന്നു മനോഹരൻ—സ്വാഗതാർഹ അതിഥിയാണ്.
