Sukta 10.69
घृतमग्नेर्वध्र्यश्वस्य वर्धनं घृतमन्नं घृतम्वस्य मेदनम् । घृतेनाहुत उर्विया वि पप्रथे सूर्य इव रोचते सर्पिरासुतिः ॥
ghṛtám agnér vadhry-aśvásya várdhanam ghṛtám ánnaṃ ghṛtám oṃ íti asya bhédanam | ghṛténa ā́huta urviyā́ ví paprathe sū́rya iva rocate sárpir-āsutiḥ ||
ഘൃതം—അഗ്നിയുടെ വർധനം—വധ്ര്യശ്വനുവേണ്ടി വർധകമാണ്; ഘൃതം തന്നെയാണ് അവന്റെ ആഹാരം, ഘൃതം തന്നെയാണ് അവന്റെ മേധാ/പോഷകശക്തിയുടെ പോഷണം. ഘൃതത്താൽ ആഹുതിയർപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ വിശാലമായ ഭൂമിയിൽ വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു; സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു—സർപ്പിരാസുതി, ഘൃതരസമായി പിഴിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന പ്രവാഹമായി.
