पितेव पुत्रमबिभरुपस्थे त्वामग्ने वध्र्यश्वः सपर्यन् । जुषाणो अस्य समिधं यविष्ठोत पूर्वाँ अवनोर्व्राधतश्चित् ॥
pitéva putrám abibhar upásthe tvā́m agne vadhryaśváḥ saparyán | juṣāṇó asya samídhaṃ yaviṣṭhóta pū́rvāṃ avano r vrā́dhataś cit ||
പിതാവ് പുത്രനെ മടിയിൽ വഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, വാധ്ര്യശ്വൻ നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, ഹേ അഗ്നി, നിന്നെ സത്തയുടെ ആസനത്തിൽ (ഉപസ്ഥത്തിൽ) വഹിക്കുന്നു. ഹേ യവിഷ്ഠ (ഏറ്റവും യുവൻ), അവന്റെ സമിധ് (ഇന്ധനം) സ്വീകരിച്ച്, നീ മുൻപുള്ളവരെയും കാത്തു—അതെ, ശരിമാർഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വീണുപോയവരെയും.
