पर्जन्यावाता वृषभा पुरीषिणेन्द्रवायू वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा । देवाँ आदित्याँ अदितिं हवामहे ये पार्थिवासो दिव्यासो अप्सु ये ॥
parjanyāvātā́ vṛṣabhā́ purīṣíṇendravāyū́ váruṇo mitró aryamā́ | devā́m̐ ādityā́m̐ áditiṃ havāmahe yé pārthivā́so divyā́so apsú yé ||
ഞങ്ങൾ പർജന്യനെയും വാതനെയും ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു—സമൃദ്ധി ചൊരിയുന്ന ബലവാനായ വൃഷഭന്മാർ. ഇന്ദ്ര-വായു, വരുണ, മിത്ര, അര്യമൻ ഇവരെയും വിളിക്കുന്നു. ദേവന്മാരെ—ആദിത്യന്മാരെയും അദിതിയെയും—ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഭൂമിയിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നവർ, ദിവ്യരായവർ, അപ്സു—ജലങ്ങളിൽ—ചലിക്കുന്നവർ.
