Sukta 1.58
तपुर्जम्भो वन आ वातचोदितो यूथे न साह्वाँ अव वाति वंसगः । अभिव्रजन्नक्षितं पाजसा रजः स्थातुश्चरथं भयते पतत्रिणः ॥
tápuḥ-jambho vána ā́ vā́ta-codito yūthé ná sāhvā́m̐ áva vāti vaṃsagáḥ | abhí-vrájann ákṣitaṃ pā́jasā rájaḥ sthātúś caráthaṃ bhayate patatríṇaḥ ||
ദഹിക്കുന്ന താടികളുള്ളവൻ, വായുവാൽ പ്രേരിതനായി, വനത്തിൽ താഴോട്ടു ശ്വാസം ഊതുന്നു—കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ജയശീലനായ നേതാവുപോലെ. അക്ഷയ തേജോബലത്തോടെ മുന്നേറിക്കൊണ്ട്, തന്റെ ജ്വാലകൊണ്ട് അന്തരീക്ഷങ്ങളെ മൂടുന്നു; അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ സ്ഥാവരവും ജംഗമവും വിറയ്ക്കുന്നു, ചിറകുള്ള ജീവികൾ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.
