Sukta 1.53
त्वं करञ्जमुत पर्णयं वधीस्तेजिष्ठयातिथिग्वस्य वर्तनी । त्वं शता वङ्गृदस्याभिनत्पुरोऽनानुदः परिषूता ऋजिश्वना ॥
tváṃ karañjám utá parṇáyaṃ vadhīs téjiṣṭhayā atithi-gvásya vartanī́ | tváṃ śatá varṅgṛ́dasya abhinát púro 'nānudáḥ párisūtā ṛ́jiśvanā ||
നീ കരഞ്ജനെയും പർണയനെയും നിന്റെ തേജിഷ്ഠ (അത്യന്തം തീക്ഷ്ണ) ബലത്തോടെ വധിച്ചു; അതിഥിഗ്വനുവേണ്ടി പാത തുറന്നു. ഋജിശ്വൻ ചുറ്റിനിരത്തി ഓടിച്ച വങ്ഗൃദന്റെ നൂറ് പുരങ്ങളെ നീ തകർത്തു—അതിനാൽ പ്രതിരോധശക്തികൾ പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ മുന്നേറ്റത്തെ പിന്നോട്ടുതള്ളാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
