Sukta 1.40
यो वाघते ददाति सूनरं वसु स धत्ते अक्षिति श्रवः । तस्मा इळां सुवीरामा यजामहे सुप्रतूर्तिमनेहसम् ॥
yó vāgháte dádāti sūnáraṃ vásu sá dhatte ákṣiti śrávaḥ | tásmā íḷāṃ su-vī́rām ā́ yajāmahe su-prátūrtim anéhasam ||
ആരു വാഘതന് (സ്തോത്രകർത്താവിന്) ഉന്നത ധനം നല്കുന്നുവോ, അവൻ അക്ഷയമായ ശ്രവസ് (കീർത്തി) നേടുന്നു. അവനുവേണ്ടി ഞങ്ങൾ ഇളാ—സുവീരാ, വീരശക്തിസമൃദ്ധയായവളെ—യജിക്കുന്നു; അവൾ സുപ്രതൂർത്തി, ആക്രമണം കടത്തിവിടുന്ന ശുഭഗതി, അനഹസ, ക്ഷീണമില്ലാത്ത പോഷകശക്തി.
