Sukta 1.33
अयुयुत्सन्ननवद्यस्य सेनामयातयन्त क्षितयो नवग्वाः । वृषायुधो न वध्रयो निरष्टाः प्रवद्भिरिन्द्राच्चितयन्त आयन् ॥
áyuyutsan anavadyásya sénām áyātayanta kṣitáyo návagvāḥ | vṛṣāyúdho ná vádhrayo nír aṣṭāḥ pravádbhir índrāc citáyanta ā́yan ||
അവർ അനവദ്യ (നിർദോഷ)നായവന്റെ സേനയ്ക്കെതിരെ നിലകൊള്ളാനായില്ല; ക്ഷിതയഃ (സ്ഥിരമായി പാർക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾ)—നവഗ്വർ—അവരെ അവരുടെ സ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചു. വൃഷായുധ (വൃഷഭസമമായ ഭുജങ്ങളുള്ള) യോദ്ധാക്കളെപ്പോലെ, വന്ധ്യരാക്കിയവരെപ്പോലെ നിർഷ്ട (പുറത്താക്കപ്പെട്ട)വരായി, അവർ ചരിവുകളിലൂടെ ഒഴുകിപ്പോയി—ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തെയേയും ഭയന്ന്.
