कदा क्षत्रश्रियं नरमा वरुणं करामहे । मृळीकायोरुचक्षसम् ॥
Transliteration
kadā́ kṣatrá-śriyaṃ náram ā́ váruṇaṃ karāmahe | mṛḷīkāyórú-cákṣasam ||
Translation
എപ്പോൾ, ഹേ നര, ഞങ്ങൾ വരുണനെ സമീപത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരും—ക്ഷത്രശ്രിയം (സാർവ്വഭൗമ തേജസ്സു) ധരിച്ച ആ ശക്തസത്തയെ—അവന്റെ മൃളീക (കൃപ) നിമിത്തം, ഉരുചക്ഷസം (വിശാലദർശിയെയ)െ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സത്ത ഋതത്തിന്റെ രാജാധികാരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്.
