Vāyu’s wide-spreading ‘milk-stream’ comes to the giver; luminous and far-ranging, it moves for Soma-drinking.
The ‘dhenā’ is not merely milk but a streaming nourishment of prāṇa-delight: a flow of life-energy that feeds the inner sacrifice. ‘Prapṛñcatī’ suggests a spreading, pervading current—Vāyu’s force distributing vitality through the being. It comes to the dāśuṣe, the one who gives/offers (self-offering, surrender of ego-motions). ‘Urūcī’ indicates wide light: prāṇa becomes luminous and capable of receiving Soma (bliss) without turbulence. Soma-drinking is the assimilation of ānanda into the nervous-vital system, stabilizing joy and widening consciousness.
When we offer ourselves sincerely, life-energy becomes a nourishing, luminous flow; then bliss can be received safely and made expansive in life.
Soma-ritual, Invocation, Inner nourishment, Expansion of consciousness, Life-force purification
Vaiśvāmitra seers: mastery of mantra as force; emphasis on widening (uru) and illumination (rocana) in the human instrument.
The rishi’s vision links prāṇa (Vāyu) and ānanda (Soma): delight is not escapist but must be ‘drunk’ by the life-force to transform embodied existence.
Carrier and distributor of energies; first receiver of Soma in many ritual sequences; mediator between offering and divine enjoyment.
Luminous vitality that can hold bliss; a widening life-breath that supports stable joy and generous giving.
Soma rite: praise of Vāyu as recipient of Soma; imagery of nourishment/stream coming to the sacrificer.

Flowing yet clipped—well-suited to imagery of a ‘stream’ arriving.
Encourages a felt sense of inward flow and widening; steadies breath while keeping it buoyant.
Soma-yajña context; especially the Pravargya/Upasads and Soma-pressing sequences where Vāyu is invited first to drink Soma (Vāyava-graha).
Around Soma pressing and offering; invitatory for the deity’s ‘drinking’.
Recitation with Soma libation; mental offering of delight to the life-force.
Use to cultivate ‘luminous prāṇa’: chant before creative work or service, offering energy (dāśuṣe) and inviting a calm joy-flow.
vāyu: from √vā ‘to blow, move’ → the deity of vital movement; psychologically the master of prāṇa and swift inspiration. prapṛñcatī: pra- + (intensive/derivative) from √pṛc/√pṛñc ‘to mix, interweave, spread abroad’ → ‘diffusing/expanding’; suggests a force that pervades the system. dhenā: from √dhā/√dhe ‘to suck, nurse’ (and the noun ‘dhenū-’ cow) → the nourishing flow; in RV symbolism ‘cow’ often signifies luminous streams of knowledge/energy that nourish the soul. jigāti: from √gam ‘to go’ with reduplication (perfect/present nuance) → ‘moves/comes’ with insistence. dāśuṣe: dative of dāśvāṃs-/dāśuṣ- from √dāś ‘to offer, worship, give’ → the sacrificer as one who gives himself/offerings. urūcī: uru ‘wide’ + √ruc ‘to shine’ → ‘wide-radiant’; illumination that is not narrow mental light but expansive. soma-pītaye: tatpuruṣa compound; pītí- ‘drinking’ from √pā ‘to drink’ → reception/assimilation of Soma (ananda, immortalizing delight).
Ṛta (right movement/order in the life-force), Prāṇa as carrier of inspiration, Ānanda (Soma as delight) assimilated by the inner being
Right flow of prāṇa is ṛta in the vital: neither suppression nor indulgence, but ordered movement.
Light (rocī) guiding life-energy to receive bliss without distortion.
Nourishment-stream builds and sustains the inner worlds; delight becomes formative power.
Integral Vedic psychology (prāṇa as instrument to be illumined; soma as delight-power).
morning (Soma-drinking, freshness of prāṇa)
Milk/cow = knowledge-nourishment and delight-flow; wind = prāṇa-current; sunlight = illumination infusing vitality.
Feel a wide, luminous stream of breath-energy descending and pervading the body; receive bliss without excitement.
svadhisthana (ānanda flow) and anahata (balanced prāṇa)
Soft ujjāyī or lengthened exhale; visualize a ‘milk-white’ stream spreading through nāḍīs.
Sweet widening; receptive joy.
Begin with an offering intention (dāśuṣe): ‘May my energy be for the Divine.’ Chant 6–12 times; then sit and let breath spread evenly through the torso, inviting quiet delight.
Maintain tri-svara; lift udātta on vāyo and key descriptors (urūcī). Let compounds resolve cleanly without swallowing vowels.
Keep the cadence even across three pādas; do not over-lengthen final syllables; preserve visarga where present in recitation tradition.
prapṛñcatī: retroflex ṛ; ‘ñc’ cluster clear, dhenā: long ē; nasal not added, jigāti: hard g, long ā, dāśuṣe: long ā, retroflex ṣ, urūcī: long ū and long ī, somapītaye: long ī in pīta; articulate t as dental
Soft, flowing, slightly sweet tone; breath-led.
