यस्मिन्वृक्षे मध्वदः सुपर्णा निविशन्ते सुवते चाधि विश्वे । तस्येदाहुः पिप्पलं स्वाद्वग्रे तन्नोन्नशद्यः पितरं न वेद ॥
yásmin vṛkṣé madhv-ádaḥ suparṇā́ níviśante súvate cā́dhi víśve | tásyéd āhuḥ píppalaṃ svā́dv ágre tán nón naśad yáḥ pitáraṃ ná véda ||
ഏത് വൃക്ഷത്തിൽ മധുഭോജി സുപർണങ്ങൾ വസിക്കുന്നു, അതിന്മേൽ സർവ്വഭവനങ്ങളും പ്രേരിതമാകുന്നു—അതിന്റെ പിപ്പല-ഫലം ശിഖരത്തിൽ മധുരമാണെന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നു; എന്നാൽ പിതാവിനെ അറിയാത്തവൻ അതിനെ സത്യമായി പ്രാപിക്കുന്നില്ല.
