Sukta 1.147

ये पायवो मामतेयं ते अग्ने पश्यन्तो अन्धं दुरितादरक्षन् । ररक्ष तान्त्सुकृतो विश्ववेदा दिप्सन्त इद्रिपवो नाह देभुः ॥

Transliteration

yé pā́yavo mā́mateyaṃ te agne páśyanto andháṃ duritā́d árakṣan | rárakṣa tā́nt su-kṛ́to viśvá-vedā dipsánta íd ripávo nā́ha debhuḥ ||

Translation

ഹേ അഗ്നേ, നിന്റെ ആ രക്ഷകർ—മാമതേയർ—അന്ധമായ ഇരുട്ടിനെ കണ്ടു, അവനെ ദുരിതത്തിൽ നിന്ന് കാത്തു. ഹേ വിശ്വവേദാ (സർവ്വജ്ഞനേ), അവരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കണമേ; അവർ സുകൃത (സത്കർമ്മ) ചെയ്യുന്നവരാണ്. ശത്രുക്കൾ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും, അവർക്ക് യാതൊരു ഹാനിയും സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല.
