Sukta 1.146
धीरासः पदं कवयो नयन्ति नाना हृदा रक्षमाणा अजुर्यम् । सिषासन्तः पर्यपश्यन्त सिन्धुमाविरेभ्यो अभवत्सूर्यो नॄन् ॥
dhīrā́saḥ padáṃ kaváyo nayanti nā́nā hṛdā́ rákṣamāṇā ajúryam | síṣāsantaḥ páry apaśyanta síndhum āvír ebhyo abhavat sū́ryo nṝ́n ||
ധീരരായ ഋഷി-കവികൾ സത്യപദത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയം ഹൃദയം വ്യത്യസ്ത ഭാവങ്ങളോടെ അവർ അജുര്യ (അജര) ശക്തിയെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ചുറ്റും നോക്കി സിന്ധുവിനെ (നദിയെ) കണ്ടു; പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യർക്കായി സൂര്യൻ അവർക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.
