Sukta 1.124
उत्ते वयश्चिद्वसतेरपप्तन्नरश्च ये पितुभाजो व्युष्टौ । अमा सते वहसि भूरि वाममुषो देवि दाशुषे मर्त्याय ॥
utté váyaś cid vasatér apaptan náraś ca yé pitubhā́jo vyùṣṭau | amā́ saté vahasi bhū́ri vāmám uṣo devi dāśúṣe mártyāya ||
ഉഷാ ദേവീ! നിന്റെ ഉദയത്തിൽ വാസസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നിന്നു പക്ഷികളും പറന്നുപോകുന്നു; പിതൃഭാഗം പങ്കിടുന്ന മനുഷ്യരും വ്യുഷ്ടിയിൽ ഉണരുന്നു. അവരുടെ കൂടെ നീ ദാശുഷനായ മർത്ത്യനുവേണ്ടി ഇവിടെ-ഇപ്പോൾ ധാരാളം ആനന്ദവും വിശാലതയും വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
