Sumantra’s Return to Ayodhya and the Palace’s Lament

ततोऽन्तःपुरमाविद्धं मूर्छिते पृथिवीपतौ।उद्धृत्य बाहू चुक्रोश नृपतौ पतितेक्षितौ।।।।

Transliteration

tato ’ntaḥpuram āviddhaṃ mūrchite pṛthivīpatau | uddhṛtya bāhū cukrośa nṛpatau patite kṣitau ||

Translation

ഭൂപതി മൂർച്ചിതനായി വീണപ്പോൾ അന്തഃപുരം കലങ്ങിപ്പോയി; രാജാവ് നിലത്ത് വീണുകിടക്കുന്നത് കണ്ട സ്ത്രീകൾ കൈകൾ ഉയർത്തി ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിലപിച്ചു.
