सीताया वनगमननिश्चयः
Sita’s Resolve to Accompany Rama to the Forest
एवमुक्ता तु वैदेही प्रियार्हा प्रियवादिनी ।
प्रणयादेव संक्रुद्धा भर्तारमिदमब्रवीत् ॥१॥
evam uktā tu vaidehī priyārhā priyavādinī |
praṇayād eva saṅkruddhā bhartāram idam abravīt ||1||
ഇങ്ങനെ പറയപ്പെട്ട വൈദേഹി—സ്നേഹാർഹയും മധുരവാക്യിനിയും—പ്രണയത്താൽ മാത്രമേ കോപം വന്നുള്ളൂ; അവൾ ഭർത്താവിനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു.
When the sweet-tongued daughter of Videha (Sita) who deserved affection, heard this she was very angry out of her love (for Rama). She said these wordsto her husband (in reply):
Dharma includes honest speech within loving relationships; even anger can be dharmic when rooted in loyalty and the pursuit of what is right.
