लक्ष्मीश्चन्द्रादपेयाद्वा हिमवान्वा हिमं त्यजेत्।अतीयात्सागरो वेलां न प्रतिज्ञामहं पितुः।।2.112.18।।
lakṣmīś candrād apeyād vā himavān vā himaṃ tyajet | atīyāt sāgaro velāṃ na pratijñām ahaṃ pituḥ || 2.112.18 ||
ചന്ദ്രന്റെ കാന്തി മങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ, ഹിമവാൻ തന്റെ ഹിമം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ, സമുദ്രം തന്റെ തീരം ലംഘിക്കട്ടെ—എങ്കിലും പിതാവിന്റെ പ്രതിജ്ഞ ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല.
