Sukta 9
ये अ॒र्वाञ्च॒स्ताँ उ॒ परा॑च आहु॒र्ये परा॑ञ्च॒स्ताँ उ॑ अ॒र्वाच॑ आहुः । इन्द्र॑श्च॒ या च॒क्रथुः॑ सोम॒ तानि॑ धु॒रा न यु॒क्ता रज॑सो वहन्ति
yé arvā́ñcas tā́ṃ u parā́ca āhur yé parā́ñcas tā́ṃ u arvā́ca āhuḥ | índraś ca yā́ cakráthuḥ soma tā́ni dhurā́ ná yuktā́ rájaso vahanti ||
What face toward us, those verily they call ‘turned away’; what face away, those verily they call ‘turned hither’. Those ordinances which thou, O Soma, and Indra have wrought—like yokes well-harnessed they bear the airy regions.
ഞങ്ങളിലേക്കു മുഖം തിരിക്കുന്നവയെ തന്നെയാണ് അവർ ‘പരാഞ്ച്’ (അകന്നോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞത്) എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നത്; അകന്നോട്ടു മുഖം തിരിക്കുന്നവയെ തന്നെയാണ് ‘അർവാഞ്ച്’ (ഇങ്ങോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞത്) എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നത്. ഹേ സോമ, ഇന്ദ്രനോടൊപ്പം നീ ചെയ്ത ആ നിയമങ്ങൾ/വിധികൾ—നന്നായി കെട്ടിയ നുകങ്ങൾപോലെ, രജസ് (ആകാശീയ മേഖലകൾ) വഹിക്കുന്നു.
