ഈ ചെറു പൗഷ്ടിക സൂക്തം സാംമനസ്യത്തിനായുള്ള—ഏകമനസ്സും പങ്കുവെക്കുന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യവും—ഒരു മന്ത്രചാരമാണ്; ബന്ധുക്കളും സഹചാരികളും ഒരേ മനസ്സോടെ ഒരേയൊരു നേതാവിനെയോ ഗൃഹനാഥനെയോ ചുറ്റി കൂടിച്ചേരാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നു. വരുണൻ, സോമൻ, അഗ്നി, ബൃഹസ്പതി, വസുക്കൾ എന്നിവരെ ആഹ്വാനിച്ച് സംഘത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗ്യം ‘ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടാൻ’ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; തുടർന്ന് ഹവിസും ഘൃതവും കൊണ്ട് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ അന്തർപ്രേരണകളെ ആചാരപരമായി ‘തുന്നിച്ചേർത്ത്’ ഏകീകരിക്കുന്നു; ഒടുവിൽ പൂഷന്റെ ശരിയായ മാർഗ്ഗനിർദ്ദേശത്തിന്റെയും വാസ്തോഷ്പതിയുടെ ഗൃഹധാരണ വിളിയുടെയും കീഴിൽ സംഘത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ച് ചിതറൽ തടയുന്നു.

सांमनस्यम्। एह या॑तु॒ वरु॑णः॒ सोमो॑ अ॒ग्निर्बृह॒स्पति॒र्वसु॑भि॒रेह या॑तु । अ॒स्य श्रिय॑मुप॒संया॑त॒ सर्व॑ उ॒ग्रस्य॑ चे॒त्तुः संम॑नसः सजाताः
മനസ്സുകളുടെ ഐക്യം. ഇവിടെ വരുണൻ വരട്ടെ; സോമൻ, അഗ്നി, ബൃഹസ്പതി—വസുക്കളോടുകൂടെ ഇവിടെ വരട്ടെ. ഈ പുരുഷന്റെ ശ്രീ/സൗഭാഗ്യത്തിലേക്ക് എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ച് സമീപിക്കട്ടെ—ഒരേ ഉദ്ദേശമുള്ള സജാതർ—ഉഗ്രനായ നിയന്ത്രകന്റെ ചുറ്റും സംമനസ്സായി.

നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ള ഏത് ശൗര്യ/ഉത്സാഹമാണോ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച ഏത് ആകൂതി/സങ്കൽപ്പമാണോ—അവയെ ഞാൻ ഹവിഷ്യത്താലും ഘൃതത്താലും തുന്നിച്ചേർത്ത് ഒന്നാക്കുന്നു. ഹേ സജാതരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ രമതി/ആനന്ദവും ഐക്യവും എനിക്കുള്ളിൽ നിലനിൽക്കട്ടെ.

इ॒हैव स्त॒ माप॑ या॒ताध्य॒स्मत् पू॒षा प॒रस्ता॒दप॑थं वः कृणोतु । वास्तो॒ष्पति॒रनु॑ वो जोहवीतु॒ मयि॑ सजाता र॒मति॑र्वो अस्तु
ഇവിടെയേ നിൽക്കുവിൻ; ഞങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് അകന്നു പോകരുത്. അപ്പുറത്തുനിന്ന് പൂഷൻ നിങ്ങള്ക്കായി അപഥം—തെറ്റിന്റെ വഴി—ദൂരെയാക്കി, ശരിവഴി സുലഭമാക്കട്ടെ. വാസ്തോഷ്പതി (ഗൃഹാധിപതി) നിങ്ങളെ അനുഗമിച്ച് വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും തിരികെ വിളിക്കട്ടെ. ഹേ സജാതരേ (കുലജനങ്ങളേ), എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആനന്ദവും ഐക്യവും നിലനില്ക്കട്ടെ.
It is used to create unanimity and cooperation—especially among family members, clan groups, or an assembly—so they gather around a shared leader/center and do not split into factions.
The hymn frames the offering as a real binding operation: the reciter ‘stitches together’ the group’s inner impulses and intentions through havis and ghee, turning heated impulses into shared harmony.
Pūṣan removes the ‘wrong path’ (apapatha)—error, wandering, or harmful influence—while Vāstoṣpati, lord of the dwelling, keeps calling the group back so they remain anchored to the household/center.
