अग्ने॑ म॒न्युं प्र॑तिनु॒दन् परे॑षां॒ त्वं नो॑ गो॒पाः परि॑ पाहि वि॒श्वतः॑ । अपा॑ञ्चो यन्तु नि॒वता॑ दुर॒स्यवो॒ऽमैषां॑ चि॒त्तं प्र॒बुधां॒ वि ने॑शत्
ágnē mányuṃ pratinudán paréṣāṃ tváṃ no gōpā́ḥ pári pāhi viśvátaḥ | apā́ñcō yantu nivátā durasyávo ’máīṣāṃ cíttaṃ prabúdhāṃ ví nēśat ||
O Agni, thrusting back the wrath of others, be thou our guardian; encompass and protect us from all sides. Let the ill-aiming go away turned backward, with heads bowed down; and do thou scatter—lead off to ruin—their mind, though waking and alert.
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ ക്രോധത്തെ പിന്തള്ളിക്കൊണ്ട് നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഗോപാ (രക്ഷകൻ) ആകുക; എല്ലാദിക്കിലും ഞങ്ങളെ ചുറ്റി കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്ക. ദുഷ്ടലക്ഷ്യമുള്ളവർ പിൻതിരിഞ്ഞ്, തലകുനിച്ച് അകന്നു പോകട്ടെ; അവരുടെ ജാഗ്രതയുള്ള—സജാഗമായ—ചിത്തത്തെ നീ ചിതറിച്ച് നാശത്തിലേക്ക് നയിക്ക.
