यस्मि॒न् षडु॒र्वीः पञ्च॒ दिशो॒ अधि॑ श्रि॒ताश्चत॑स्र॒ आपो॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॒ त्रयो॒ऽक्षराः॑ । यो अ॑न्त॒रा रोद॑सी क्रु॒द्धश्चक्षु॒षैक्ष॑त॒ तस्य॑ दे॒वस्य॑ । क्रु॒द्धस्यै॒तदागो॒ य ए॒वं वि॒द्वांसं॑ ब्राह्म॒णं जि॒नाति॑ । उद् वे॑पय रोहित॒ प्र क्षि॑णीहि ब्रह्म॒ज्यस्य॒ प्रति॑ मुञ्च॒ पाशा॑न्
yásmin ṣáḍ urvī́ḥ páñca díśo ádhi śritā́ś catásra ā́po yajñásya tráyo ’kṣárāḥ | yó antárā ródasī kruddháś cákṣuṣā́ikṣata tásya devásya | kruddhásyaitád ā́go yá eváṃ vidvā́ṃsaṃ brāhmaṇáṃ jinā́ti | úd vepaya rohita prá kṣiṇīhi brahmajyásya práti muñca pā́śān
In whom are set the six broad regions; on whom the five directions rest; (in whom are) the four Waters; (in whom) of Sacrifice the three imperishable syllables:—He who, wrathful, looked with his eye between the two worlds—of that God. This is the offence against that wrathful God, whoso thus wrongs a knowing Brahmin. Make him quake, O Rohita; waste him away; against the Brahmin-hurter loose back the nooses.
ആരിൽ ആറു വിശാല പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിതമാണ്; ആരിൽ അഞ്ചു ദിക്കുകൾ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു; (ആരിൽ) നാല് ആപഃ (ജലങ്ങൾ) ഉണ്ട്; (ആരിൽ) യജ്ഞത്തിന്റെ മൂന്ന് അക്ഷരങ്ങൾ—അവിനാശികൾ—ഉണ്ട്; ക്രുദ്ധനായി രണ്ടു ലോകങ്ങൾ (രോദസീ) തമ്മിൽ തന്റെ കണ്ണാൽ നോക്കിയവൻ—ആ ദേവത്തിന്റേതാണ്. ക്രുദ്ധനായ ആ ദേവനോടുള്ള ഇതാണ് അപരാധം: ഇങ്ങനെ അറിവുള്ള ബ്രാഹ്മണനെ ആരെങ്കിലും പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയോ അപമാനിച്ച് ജയിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്താൽ. ഹേ റോഹിത, അവനെ എഴുന്നേൽപ്പിച്ച് വിറപ്പിക്ക; അവനെ ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്ക; ബ്രഹ്മഹന്താവിന്റെ മേൽ പാശങ്ങൾ പ്രതിദണ്ഡമായി വിട്ടുവിടുക.
