स॒ह॒स्रा॒ह्ण्यं विय॑तावस्य प॒क्षौ हरे॑र्हं॒सस्य॒ पत॑तः स्व॒र्गम्। स दे॒वान्त्सर्वा॒नुर॑स्युप॒दद्य॑ सं॒पश्य॑न् याति॒ भुव॑नानि॒ विश्वा॒ तस्य॑ दे॒वस्य॑। क्रु॒द्धस्यै॒तदागो॒ य ए॒वं वि॒द्वांसं॑ ब्राह्म॒णं जि॒नाति॑ । उद् वे॑पय रोहित॒ प्र क्षि॑णीहि ब्रह्म॒ज्यस्य॒ प्रति॑ मुञ्च॒ पाशा॑न्
sahasrā́hṇyaṃ víyatāvasya pákṣau háreḥ haṃsásya pátataḥ svargám | sá devā́n sárvān urásy úpadádya saṃpáśyan yāti bhúvanāni víśvā tásya devásya | kruddhásyaitád ā́go yá eváṃ vidvā́ṃsaṃ brāhmaṇáṃ jinā́ti | úd vepaya rohita prá kṣiṇīhi brahmajyásya práti muñca pāśā́n
A thousand-day might are the wings of the wide-stretching—of Hari’s haṃsa flying heavenward. Setting all the gods within his breast, surveying, he goes through all the worlds. This is the offence against that god when wrathful—whoso thus overmasters a knowing Brahmin. Up, make him tremble, O Rohita; waste him away: against the brahma-slayer loose forth the nooses.
