Agni
Gāyatrī (probable; short 3-pāda form typical of gāyatrī-like verses)
This hymn praises Agni as the inspired priest who “moves around” the offerings, purifying and perfecting the sacrifice and rewarding the giver with treasures (ratna). It highlights Agni’s daily kindling and polishing—like a swift racehorse and a ruddy child of heaven—showing how the fire grows into a radiant, well-formed power that carries oblations to the gods and sustains the rite.

अनायतो अनिबद्धः कथायं न्यङ्ङुत्तानोऽव पद्यते न । कया याति स्वधया को ददर्श दिवः स्कम्भः समृतः पाति नाकम् ॥
अग्नि हमारे यज्ञ का पुजारी है जो सफल होता है। वो भगवान बाकी भगवानों में सबसे प्यारा है। यज्ञ के लिए अपनी जगह ले लेता है।

अग्निर्होता नो अध्वरे वाजी सन्परि णीयते । देवो देवेषु यज्ञियः ॥
अग्नि हमारे यज्ञ में पुजारी है। जैसे कोई रथ चलाता है वैसे यह चलता है। भगवानों के लिए सामग्री ले के जाता है।

परि वाजपतिः कविरग्निर्हव्यान्यक्रमीत् । दधद्रत्नानि दाशुषे ॥
अग्नि रिशि है और सामग्री ले के चलता है। वो जो चीज़ें समझ में आती हैं वो दान करने वाले को देता है।

अयं यः सृञ्जये पुरो दैववाते समिध्यते । द्युमाँ अमित्रदम्भनः ॥
यह वो अग्नि है जो सृंजय के लिए जलाया जाता है। यह चमकता है और दुश्मनों को हराता है।

अस्य घा वीर ईवतोऽग्नेरीशीत मर्त्यः । तिग्मजम्भस्य मीळ्हुषः ॥
इस अग्नि का जो इंसन स्वामी बनता है वो बहुत ताकतवर होता है। यह अग्नि मदद करता है और दुश्मनों को खत्म करता है।

तमर्वन्तं न सानसिमरुषं न दिवः शिशुम् । मर्मृज्यन्ते दिवेदिवे ॥
लोग रोज़ आग को साफ करते हैं। जैसे कोई घोड़ा दौड़ के जीतने के लिए तैयार करता है। जैसे आसमान का लाल बेटा चमकता है। वैसे ही आग को चमकाते हैं जब तक वो पूरी तरह साफ न हो जाए।

बोधद्यन्मा हरिभ्यां कुमारः साहदेव्यः । अच्छा न हूत उदरम् ॥
सहदेव का बेटा सुबह उठा और दो पीली घोड़ियाँ ले के आया। उसने मुझे बुलाया और सीधा दिल तक पहुँचा। वो हवानी खोला लाया जहाँ पूजा हो सकती है।

उत त्या यजता हरी कुमारात्साहदेव्यात् । प्रयता सद्य आ ददे ॥
वो दो प्यारे पीली शक्तियाँ सहदेव के बेटे के पास से आई हैं। वो तैयार होके तुरंत हमारे पास आती हैं और मदद करती हैं।

एष वां देवावश्विना कुमारः साहदेव्यः । दीर्घायुरस्तु सोमकः ॥
हे अश्विन देवता, यह सहदेव का बेटा तुम्हारा है। सोमका को लंबी उम्र दो। तुम उसको अपने पास रखो और संभालो।

तं युवं देवावश्विना कुमारं साहदेव्यम् । दीर्घायुषं कृणोतन ॥
हे दोनों अश्विन देवता, इस सहदेव के बेटे को लंबी उम्र वाला बना दो। उसमें इतनी ताकत डाल दो कि वो पूरा सफ़र पार कर सके।
