Sukta 2.2
अभि त्वा नक्तीरुषसो ववाशिरेऽग्ने वत्सं न स्वसरेषु धेनवः । दिव इवेदरतिर्मानुषा युगा क्षपो भासि पुरुवार संयतः ॥
abhí tvā náktīr uṣásaḥ vavāśire ’ágne vatsáṃ ná svásareṣu dhenávaḥ | divá ivéd aratír mā́nuṣā yugā́ ā́ kṣápaḥ bhāsi puru-vāra saṃ-yatáḥ ||
Zu dir rufen die Nächte und die Morgenröten, o Agni, wie milchreiche Kühe nach dem Kalb in ihren eigenen Ställen. Wie ein Bote vom Himmel her leuchtest du durch die menschlichen Yugas; durch die Nächte flammst du, o Vielspendender, gezügelt, in deine Lichtkraft gesammelt.
