এই সংক্ষিপ্ত বসিষ্ঠ স্তোত্ৰটি যজ্ঞৰ বাবে অগ্নিৰ এক সংক্ষিপ্ত আহ্বান: কবিসকলে সমিধা (ইন্ধন), স্তৱ আৰু আহুতিৰে জাতবেদসক জ্বলাই তোলে, তেওঁক বষট্-ধ্বনি গ্ৰহণ কৰি দেৱতাসকলক আনিবলৈ অনুৰোধ কৰে। ইয়াত যজমানৰ পৰিচয় ভক্তিসম্পন্ন দাতা (দাশত) হিচাপে জোৰ দিয়া হৈছে, আৰু অগ্নিৰ মধ্যস্থতাৰে স্থায়ী স্বস্তি (কল্যাণ/ৰক্ষা) বিচাৰি প্ৰাৰ্থনাৰে শেষ হয়।

समिधा जातवेदसे देवाय देवहूतिभिः । हविर्भिः शुक्रशोचिषे नमस्विनो वयं दाशेमाग्नये ॥
আমাৰ সমিধাৰে জাতৱেদস দেৱক—দেৱসকলক আহ্বান কৰা দেৱহূতি-ধ্বনিসমূহেৰে—আমি সেৱা কৰোঁ। হৱিৰে আমি শুক্ৰ-শোচিষ (উজ্জ্বল জ্বালাময়) জনলৈ অৰ্পণ কৰোঁ। নম্ৰ-চিত্তে ভৰা আমি অগ্নিলৈ আমাৰ দান-অৰ্পণ নিবেদন কৰোঁ।

वयं ते अग्ने समिधा विधेम वयं दाशेम सुष्टुती यजत्र । वयं घृतेनाध्वरस्य होतर्वयं देव हविषा भद्रशोचे ॥
হে অগ্নি, আমি তোমাক সমিধাৰে বিধান কৰোঁ; হে যজ্য (যজ্যত্র), আমি তোমাক সু-স্তুতিয়ে সঠিকভাৱে দাশোঁ। হে অধ্বৰ-যজ্ঞৰ হোতৃ, আমি তোমাৰ বাবে ঘৃত ঢালি দিওঁ; হে দেৱ, হে ভদ্ৰ-শোচে, আমি হৱিষাৰে তোমাক অৰ্পণ কৰোঁ।

आ नो देवेभिरुप देवहूतिमग्ने याहि वषट्कृतिं जुषाणः । तुभ्यं देवाय दाशतः स्याम यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
হে অগ্নি, দেৱসকলৰ সৈতে আমাৰ ওচৰলৈ আহা—দেৱহূতি (দেৱ-আহ্বান) লৈ; আৰু বষট্-কৃত ধ্বনিত আনন্দ লোৱা। তোমালৈ, দেৱলৈ, আমি দাতা হওঁ; আৰু তোমালোক সদায় স্বস্তিভিঃ (কল্যাণ-অৱস্থাসমূহেৰে) আমাক ৰক্ষা কৰা।
