न वरं प्रार्थयत्येष लाभालाभसमन्वितः ॥ सूचकोऽपि न विद्येत बलिकर्मसु संयतः

na varaṁ prārthayaty eṣa lābhālābha-samanvitaḥ || sūcako 'pi na vidyeta bali-karmasu saṁyataḥ

لم يطلب نعمةً ولا عطاءً، بل بقي متساوي النفس عند الربح والخسارة. وكان منضبطًا في شعائر القربان، فلا يُرى فيه حتى أدنى علامة لمصلحةٍ شخصية.
