Outer meaning

Soma, urged by seven inspirations, sets the (truthful) rivers flowing; these streams increase the single Eye (of vision).

Inner meaning

Pavamāna Soma (the purified delight) is propelled by the seven dhītis—intuitive inspirations/illumined thoughts—and releases the inner currents of consciousness (nadyaḥ) that are adruhaḥ, ‘non-betraying’: they do not deviate from satya/ṛta. These streams widen and strengthen the ekam akṣi, the one spiritual Eye—integral seeing—so the seeker’s perception becomes unified, luminous, and trustworthy.

Universal truth

When higher inspiration governs the mind, the life-currents become truth-aligned and the many perceptions converge into one clear vision; inner delight naturally organizes and purifies the whole being.

Themes

Seven rivers/seven inspirations, Truth currents, Growth of inner sight, Soma as quickener

Rig Veda 9.9 (Pavamāna Soma sequence), Rig Veda 9.1–9.114 (Soma Pavamāna corpus; thematically linked)

Significance

The anonymous ‘pavamāna’ seer-type represents a collective yogic seeing: delight purified into illumination, establishing truthful inner currents that culminate in unified vision.

Cosmic role

Soma is the cosmic delight and sap that, when purified, becomes the luminous nourishment of gods and the energizer of ṛta in the worlds.

Inner power

Ananda that clarifies perception: bliss-force that releases right-flowing inner streams and consolidates consciousness into a single seeing.

Where it is used

Soma pressing and purification (pavamāna recitations during Soma-yajña).
