Sukta 3.53
किं ते कृण्वन्ति कीकटेषु गावो नाशिरं दुह्रे न तपन्ति घर्मम् । आ नो भर प्रमगन्दस्य वेदो नैचाशाखं मघवन्रन्धया नः ॥
kíṃ te kṛṇvanti kī́kaṭeṣu gā́vo ná āśíraṃ duhré ná tapanti gharmám | ā́ no bhara prá-magandasya védो naicāśā́khaṃ maghavan randhayā naḥ ||
ماذا تصنع أشعّةُ نورِكَ بين الكِيكاṭا، حيث لا تُدرُّ الأبقارُ عصارةً غنيةً ولا تُوقدُ حرارةَ الغِرْتَا (ghr̥ta) الدافئة؟ احملْ إلينا الفيدا—المعرفةَ الحقّة—من ذاك الذي يمضي في عِطرٍ مُعْوَجّ؛ ويا مَغَهافان، أخضِعْ لنا ذلك النبتَ الذي لا غُصونَ له/الغريب، الذي لا ينتمي إلى السلالةِ القويمة.
