Sukta 1.3
इन्द्रा याहि तूतुजान उप ब्रह्माणि हरिवः । सुते दधिष्व नश्चनः ॥
índrā́ yā́hi tūtujā́na úpa bráhmāṇi harivaḥ | suté dadhisva naś cánāḥ ||
Soma-yajña (notably Agniṣṭoma): invitation (āhvāna) to Indra to partake of the pressed Soma and empower the rite; also adaptable as a general Indra-invocation in morning pressing (prātaḥ-savana).
Ṛta (right order): the mantra as a law-utterance aligning inner action with truth, Satyam–Ṛtam–Bṛhat: brahman as expansive word that opens the Vast, Ānanda/rasa: Soma as delight-essence sustaining the ascent
Right order is not passive; it arrives as a force that yokes life-energy to luminous mind.
A true gain is ‘established’—made enduring, not fleeting mood.
Transformation as infusion: divine force deposits its seed in refined delight, generating further growth.
Integral yoga reading: prāṇa (horse) must be governed by illumined mind (Indra) and fed by ānanda (Soma).
Steeds = vital energies; Soma = refined joy; haste = breaking inertia; deposit = stabilization of higher force in the system.
Call swift illumination; then receive and stabilize a ‘portion’ of victorious joy in the system.
Manipura (force/drive) supported by Ajna (illumination)
Brisk 3-part breathing for 7 cycles, then slow exhale while chanting to ‘establish’ (dadhiṣva) the gain.
Energized clarity; readiness for action aligned to truth.
Chant standing or seated upright. After 3–9 repetitions, pause and feel the vital energies (horses) becoming obedient to a higher direction; let a quiet joy settle as a stable power.
Gāyatrī; give kinetic lift to ‘tūtujānaḥ’; keep ‘harivaḥ’ sonorous; final ‘naś canaḥ’ light but definite.
Let the first pāda move quickly; second pāda open and bright; third pāda slow slightly to ‘establish’ the request.
: long ū; keep repeated ‘tū’ even, : ‘ri’ short, ‘vaḥ’ with visarga audible but soft, : aspirated ‘dh’, retroflex ‘ṣv’ cluster clean, : keep sandhi ‘naś ca’ distinct in articulation
Energizing, forward-thrusting, then settling at the end.
