वेदमूर्तिरहं विप्र नान्यशास्त्रार्थवादिभिः । ज्ञायते मत्स्वरूपं तु मुक्त्वा वेदमनादिमत् । वेदवेद्योऽस्मि विप्रर्षे ब्राह्मणैश्च विशेषतः ॥ ७०.४४ ॥
vedamūrtir ahaṃ vipra nānyaśāstrārthavādibhiḥ | jñāyate matsvarūpaṃ tu muktvā vedam anādimat | vedavedyo 'smi viprarṣe brāhmaṇaiś ca viśeṣataḥ || 70.44 ||
โอ พราหมณ์ เราเป็นผู้มีรูปเป็นพระเวท. ผู้ที่เพียงอธิบายความหมายแห่งคัมภีร์อื่น โดยละทิ้งพระเวทอันไร้ปฐมกาล ย่อมไม่รู้สภาวะของเราโดยแท้. โอ ฤษีผู้ประเสริฐ เราพึงรู้ได้ด้วยพระเวท โดยเฉพาะโดยพราหมณ์ทั้งหลาย.
