स्वायुधः सोतृभिः पूयमानोऽभ्यर्ष गुह्यं चारु नाम । अभि वाजं सप्तिरिव श्रवस्याभि वायुमभि गा देव सोम ॥
svāyudhaḥ sotṛ́bhiḥ pūyámāno ’bhyàrṣa gúhyaṃ cā́ru nā́ma | abhí vā́jaṃ sáptir iva śravasyā́bhi vāyúm abhí gā́ deva soma ||
โสมะผู้มีอาวุธคือฤทธิ์ของตนเอง ผู้ถูกชำระโดยผู้คั้น จงไหลออกไปสู่ “นาม” อันลี้ลับและงดงามนั้นเถิด. จงพุ่งสู่ความอุดมแห่งพลังดุจม้าศึกอันรวดเร็วพุ่งสู่เกียรติยศ; จงพุ่งสู่ วายุ (Vāyu) จงพุ่งสู่โคแห่งรัศมี—ลำแสงทั้งหลาย—โอ โสมะผู้เป็นเทพ.
