Sukta 9.29
एन्दो पार्थिवं रयिं दिव्यं पवस्व धारया । द्युमन्तं शुष्ममा भर ॥
éndo pārthívam rayíṃ divyáṃ pavasva dhā́rayā | dyumántaṃ śúṣmam ā́ bhara ||
Soma rite: petition for Soma to confer rayi (plenitude) and śuṣma (power) across earthly and heavenly domains.
integration of earth and heaven (pārthiva/divya), illumined force (dyumant śuṣma)
The right order is the bridging of planes—material and luminous—through a purified current.
Dyumant force is truth-lit strength, not egoic aggression.
Manifestation as descent of divine plenitude into embodied life.
Integral Vedic psychology: earth/heaven as lower/higher consciousness levels to be unified.
The stream is prāṇa-consciousness current; earth/heaven are body-mind and supramental/illumined mind domains; the moon-like Soma is reflective delight that becomes self-luminous when purified.
Receive a twofold inflow: stabilize the body-life (pārthiva) and open the mind to higher light (divya).
Mūlādhāra (grounding wealth) and Sahasrāra/Ājñā (divine plenitude and light)
Inhale imagining a cool bright stream descending; exhale distributing it through the whole body; add silent ‘ā bhara’ on inhale for 12 breaths.
From collectedness to inspired dynamism—quiet joy turning into luminous strength.
After chanting, note whether strength is ‘lit’ (dyumant) or merely tense. Re-offer tense force into the Soma-stream until it becomes clear and victorious without agitation.
Maintain clear udātta lifts on vocatives (éndo/índo) and key imperatives (pavasva, ā bhara); keep pāda endings gently resolved.
Let ‘pavasva dhārayā’ be smoothly legato; strike ‘dyumantam śuṣmam’ with brighter emphasis.
endo/indu: short initial vowel, dental ‘d’ in ‘indu’, pārthivam: aspirate ‘th’ lightly; keep ‘ṛ’ vocalic clear, divyam: ‘vy’ glide clean, dhārayā: long ‘ā’ sustained, śuṣmam: retroflex ‘ṣ’, do not soften to ‘sh’ too much
Bright, flowing, confidence-building; avoid heaviness.
