शुनं हुवेम मघवानमिन्द्रमस्मिन्भरे नृतमं वाजसातौ । शृण्वन्तमुग्रमूतये समत्सु घ्नन्तं वृत्राणि संजितं धनानाम् ॥

Transliteration

śunáṃ huvema maghávānam índram asmín bháre nṛ́tamaṃ vā́jasātau | śṛṇvántam ugrám ūtáye samátsu ghnántaṃ vṛtrā́ṇi saṃjítam dhánānām ||

Translation

เพื่อความผาสุกของเรา ในศึกนี้เราขอเชิญอินทราผู้เอื้อเฟื้อ—ผู้เป็นวีรบุรุษยิ่งในชัยชนะเพื่อความอุดมสมบูรณ์. ขอพระองค์ทรงสดับ; ทรงเกรี้ยวกราดเพื่อเกื้อกูลท่ามกลางการปะทะทั้งหลาย ทรงฟาดฟันเหล่าวฤตระ (Vṛtra) อันเป็นเครื่องกีดขวาง—ผู้พิชิตผู้รวบรวมทรัพย์สมบัติ.
