Sukta 3.16
मा नो अग्नेऽमतये मावीरतायै रीरधः । मागोतायै सहसस्पुत्र मा निदेऽप द्वेषांस्या कृधि ॥
mā́ no agné 'matáye mā́vī́ratāyai rīradhaḥ | mā́gotāyai sahasas-putra mā́ nidè 'pá dveṣā́ṃsy ā́ kṛdhi ||
โอ อัคนี (Agni) โปรดอย่านำเราสู่ความทึบที่ทำให้สูญเสียหนทางสู่อมฤตะ อย่านำเราสู่ความเสื่อมแห่งพลังวีรบุรุษ และอย่าให้เราสูญเสีย ‘โค’ (รัศมีแห่งญาณ) โอ บุตรแห่งพละกำลัง อย่ามอบเราให้แก่คำติฉิน และโปรดขจัดความชิงชังทั้งหลายให้พ้นจากเรา
