उषो वाजं हि वंस्व यश्चित्रो मानुषे जने । तेना वह सुकृतो अध्वराँ उप ये त्वा गृणन्ति वह्नयः ॥

uṣo vā́jaṃ hí vaṃsva yáś citró mā́nuṣe jáne | ténā vaha sukṛ́to adhvarā́ṃ úpa yé tvā gṛṇánti váhnayaḥ ||

โอ อุษัส (รุ่งอรุณ) จงชนะเพื่อเราซึ่งความอุดมแห่งพลัง (วาชะ) อันสว่างไสวในหมู่มนุษย์; ด้วยสิ่งนั้นจงนำให้ใกล้เข้ามาซึ่งเครื่องบูชาที่กระทำดีแล้ว และการงานอันชอบธรรมแห่งพิธีบูชา—ผู้ที่สรรเสริญท่านคือผู้หามเพลิง (วหฺนิ)
