अद्या दूतं वृणीमहे वसुमग्निं पुरुप्रियम् । धूमकेतुं भाऋजीकं व्युष्टिषु यज्ञानामध्वरश्रियम् ॥
Transliteration
adyā́ dūtáṃ vṛṇīmahe vásum agníṃ purupriyám | dhūmakétuṃ bhā́ṛjīkaṃ vyùṣṭiṣu yajñā́nām adhvaraśríyam ||
Translation
วันนี้เราขอเลือกทูต—อัคนี (Agni) ผู้ประทานทรัพย์ ผู้เป็นที่รักของคนมากมาย ผู้มีควันเป็นธง ผู้เรืองรองคมกล้า; ในยามอรุณคลี่คลาย เขาคือความงามแห่งยัญญะ (yajña) คือรัศมีที่นำพิธี (adhvara) ให้ดำเนินไป.
