पाहि नो अग्ने रक्षसः पाहि धूर्तेरराव्णः । पाहि रीषत उत वा जिघांसतो बृहद्भानो यविष्ठ्य ॥
pā́hi no agne rákṣasaḥ pā́hi dhūrtér arā́vṇaḥ | pā́hi rī́ṣata utá vā́ jighā́ṃsato bṛ́hadbhāno yáviṣṭhya ||
ขอพระอัคนี (Agni) โปรดคุ้มครองพวกเรา ให้พ้นจากพวกยักษ์รากษสผู้กลืนกินความมืด; โปรดคุ้มครองให้พ้นจากผู้ล่อลวงและเจตจำนงอันเป็นศัตรู. โปรดคุ้มครองให้พ้นจากผู้ทำร้าย และจากผู้หมายจะฆ่า—โอผู้ส่องรัศมีกว้างใหญ่ โอเปลวไฟผู้เยาว์วัยที่สุดและผุดเกิดใหม่ไม่สิ้นสุด.
