AV 3.23 గృహస్థుల సంతాన-చికిత్సా సూక్తం. ఇందులో వంధ్యత (vehát) ను తొలగించదగిన, ఇతరత్రా బదిలీ చేయదగిన దోషంగా భావించి, స్త్రీ గర్భధారణ-శక్తిని పునఃస్థాపిస్తుంది. దోషాన్ని దూరం నెట్టే వాక్కు-క్రియ ద్వారా, అలాగే శుభకరమైన “బీజం” మరియు దైవిక ఔషధి/వనస్పతులను ఆహ్వానించి, ప్రజా/గర్భ (సంతానం మరియు గర్భధారణ) ను మళ్లీ స్థిరపరచడం ఈ సూక్త లక్ష్యం; ప్రత్యేకంగా కుమారుని విజయవంతమైన జననం మరియు గర్భధారణను స్పష్టంగా అనుకూలిస్తుంది.
Mantra 1
वीर-प्रसूतिः। येन॑ वे॒हद् ब॒भूवि॑थ ना॒शया॑म॒सि तत् त्वत्। इ॒दं तद॒न्यत्र॒ त्वदप॑ दू॒रे नि द॑ध्मसि
ఇది వీర-ప్రసూతి (వీరసంతానప్రదం). నీవు వంధ్యుడవైన దానికి కారణమైనదాన్ని—దానిని మేము నీ నుండి నశింపజేస్తాము. అదే దానిని మేము ఇతరత్ర, నీ నుండి దూరంగా, చాలా దూరంగా, కింద ఉంచుతాము.

आ ते॒ योनिं॒ गर्भ॑ एतु॒ पुमा॒न् बाण॑ इवेषु॒धिम्। आ वी॒रोऽत्र॑ जायतां पु॒त्रस्ते॒ दश॑मास्यः
నీ యోనిలో గర్భము ప్రవేశించుగాక—పురుషుడు—బాణం తూణిలో ప్రవేశించినట్లుగా. ఇక్కడే ఒక వీరుడు జన్మించుగాక—నీకు పది నెలల గర్భధారణ పూర్తయిన కుమారుడు.

पुमां॑सं पु॒त्रं ज॑नय॒ तं पुमा॒ननु॑ जायताम्। भवा॑सि पु॒त्राणां॑ मा॒ता जा॒तानां॑ ज॒नया॑श्च॒ यान्
పురుషోచిత కుమారుణ్ని కనుము; ఆ పురుషుడు క్రమంగా (అను) జన్మించుగాక. నీవు ఇప్పటికే పుట్టిన కుమారుల తల్లి; ఇంకా నీవు కనబోయే వారికీ తల్లివే.

यानि॑ भ॒द्राणि॒ बीजा॑न्यृष॒भा ज॒नय॑न्ति च । तैस्त्वं पु॒त्रं वि॑न्दस्व॒ सा प्र॒सूर्धेनु॑का भव
వృషభులు జనింపజేసి పుట్టించే శుభమైన బీజాలు ఏవో—వాటితో నీవు కుమారుణ్ని పొందుగాక; నీవు ప్రసూతగా, ధేనువలె సమృద్ధిగా, ఫలవంతంగా ఉండుగాక.

कृ॒णोमि॑ ते प्राजाप॒त्यमा योनिं॒ गर्भ॑ एतु ते । वि॒न्दस्व॒ त्वं पु॒त्रं ना॑रि॒ यस्तुभ्यं॒ शमस॒च्छमु॒ तस्मै॒ त्वं भव॑
హే నారీ, నీకోసం ప్రజాపతి-కృత యోనిని (గర్భాశయాన్ని) నేను ఏర్పరుస్తున్నాను; గర్భము నీలో ప్రవేశించుగాక. నీవు కుమారుని పొందుగాక—అతడు నీకు శ్రేయస్సుగా ఉండుగాక; నీవు కూడా అతనికి శ్రేయస్సుగా ఉండుగాక.

यासां॒ द्यौः पि॒ता पृ॑थि॒वी मा॒ता स॑मु॒द्रो मूलं॑ वी॒रुधां॑ ब॒भूव॑ । तास्त्वा॑ पुत्र॒विद्या॑य॒ दैवीः॒ प्राव॒न्त्वोष॑धयः
యావరి తండ్రి ద్యౌః (ఆకాశం), యావరి తల్లి పృథివీ (భూమి), యావరి మూలం సముద్రంగా అయినదో—ఆ వీరుధ్ (ఔషధి లతలు/వనస్పతులు). ఆ దైవీ ఓషధులు పుత్ర-విద్యా (పుత్రప్రాప్తి) కొరకు నిన్ను కాపాడి, ముందుకు నడిపి సహాయపడుగాక.
It treats infertility (vehát) as an affliction that can be expelled and ‘deposited elsewhere,’ then installs fertility through affirmations of auspicious generative power and the protective aid of herbs.
The hymn presents plants as sacred powers with cosmic origin (Sky–Earth–Ocean). By invoking them, the rite frames medicine and fertility as supported by divine, world-grounded forces.
The language explicitly seeks a son (putra), which matches many Atharvanic domestic aims, but the ritual logic also broadly targets the removal of barrenness and the restoration of successful conception and motherhood.
