Avadhuta Upanishad 26: Verse 26

अथवा कृतकृत्येऽपि लोकानुग्रहकाम्यया । शास्त्रीयेणैव मार्गेण वर्तेऽहं मम का क्षतिः ॥२६॥

IAST Transliteration

athavā kṛtakṛtye 'pi lokānugrahakāmyayā | śāstrīyeṇaiva mārgeṇa varte 'haṃ mama kā kṣatiḥ ||26||

Translation

अथवा कृतकृत्योऽपि लोकानुग्रहकाम्यया । शास्त्रीयमार्गमेवाहं वर्ते; मम का क्षतिः ॥२६॥

Academic Translation

Or else, even though (I am) one who has accomplished what is to be accomplished, out of a desire to show favor to the world, I proceed only by the scriptural path; what loss is there for me?
