Outer meaning

Purifying in the vessels, the tawny-golden Soma enters the filtering cloths; around the gavyāni (cow-wealth) he is woven/prepared.

Inner meaning

In the inner ‘vessels’ (kalaśa)—the prepared parts of our nature—Soma self-purifies. He passes into the ‘cloths’ (vastra/pavitra): subtle sieves of discernment that separate truth from mixture. Then he is ‘woven around luminous riches’ (gavyāni): the rays of knowledge are organized around bliss, making it ready for right use in the being.

Universal truth

Spiritual joy becomes safe and effective when it is filtered through discernment and integrated with knowledge. Purification is not rejection but refinement and preparation.

Themes

Soma purification, Ritual technology as inner yoga, Light-substance (go), Preparation of the vessel

Family tradition

Filtration hymns (pavitra) central to Book 9; oral precision mirrors the ‘filtering’ process itself.

Significance

A technical yoga-image: the soul-force of delight must pass through inner filters and be woven with knowledge before it becomes a stable power of transformation.

Agni (priestly will), Indra (illumined mind)

Cosmic role

Purified nectar moving through cosmic and ritual filters, becoming fit as offering and as energizer of divine functions.

Inner power

Refining bliss that clarifies the mind and enriches the being with luminous ‘wealth’.

Where it is used

Soma filtration through cloth into vessels (kalaśa) prior to offering.
